Pulse is Napster Learn's live AI session feature — a scheduled, real-time conversation between a learner and a Digital Twin or Mentor. Unlike courses (structured, self-paced content) and simulations (unscripted practice scenarios), Pulse sessions are intentional check-ins and coaching moments that happen at a specific time.
What Pulse is used for
- Scheduled mentoring check-ins between a learner and their assigned Digital Twin or Mentor
- Progress reviews — the Mentor reviews what the learner has completed and where they are in their learning journey
- Goal-setting conversations — setting or reviewing learning goals in the learner's Talent Profile
- Live coaching moments — discussing a specific challenge, scenario, or question in real time
- Pre- or post-course conversations — a briefing before a course starts or a debrief after it finishes
How Pulse sessions work
A Pulse session is scheduled in advance and appears in the learner's Upcoming section on their home dashboard. At the scheduled time, the learner starts the session and has a live AI conversation with the assigned Digital Twin or Mentor. The session is logged in the learner's learning history and can earn a Pulse Session badge.
Scheduling a Pulse session
Pulse sessions can be scheduled by users with the Digital Twin Manager role or above. To schedule a session:
- Go to the Suite tools on the admin home and select Pulse.
- Select the learner(s) and the Digital Twin or Mentor for the session.
- Set the date, time, and any session brief or context.
- Save — the session appears in the learner's Upcoming section.
Pulse badges
Completing a Pulse session can earn a Pulse Session badge. Like all Napster Learn badges, Pulse badges follow the leveling system: Participation (attended), Achievement (milestone), Completion (completed), Mastery (demonstrated depth). Skills validated in the session are added to the learner's Talent Profile.
