Simulations are AI-powered practice scenarios where learners have a live conversation with a Mentor or Digital Twin to rehearse real-world situations — sales calls, difficult conversations, technical support, onboarding scenarios, and more. Unlike courses (where the learner consumes structured content), simulations are unscripted practice: the learner is put in a role and must perform.
What simulations are used for
- Sales skills practice — Discovery calls, Objection handling, Cold calls, Renewal conversations, Competitive positioning
- Technical skills — Product demos, Technical support scenarios
- Onboarding — Practice scenarios for new hire readiness
- Leadership and communication — Difficult conversations, feedback delivery, coaching conversations
Simulation metrics
Each simulation tracks:
- Sessions (90 days) — total attempts across all assigned learners
- Avg Composite Score — average performance score out of 100 across all attempts
- Completion Rate — percentage of assigned learners who completed the simulation
- Active Learners — number of learners who have attempted it out of those assigned
Creating a simulation (Admin) — 6 steps
- Mentor — Choose the Mentor or Digital Twin who plays the other side of the conversation. Select Mentor (a coach persona with no real person depicted) or Digital Twin (replays a real person from your Digital Twins library). Give the simulation a title and optional persona override.
- Rubric — Define how learner performance is scored. Set the dimensions (e.g. rapport, objection handling, closing technique) and weighting. The rubric drives the composite score.
- Knowledge — Upload supporting materials the Mentor uses during the simulation (product guides, FAQs, scripts, competitor comparisons). The Mentor draws on this knowledge in real time.
- Scenario — Write the scenario brief: the context the learner receives before starting (e.g. "You are calling a prospect who has shown interest in our Enterprise plan. Their main concern is pricing.").
- Script — Optionally define how the simulation begins — an opening line, a starting mood, or a specific situation the learner enters mid-conversation.
- Publish — Review all steps, confirm all checks pass, and publish the simulation. Assign it to learners or groups.
Simulation templates
When creating a simulation, you can start from one of 7 built-in templates:
- Discovery
- Objection handling
- Cold call
- Renewal
- Competitive positioning
- Technical
- Other (free-form)
Learner experience
Learners access their assigned simulations from the Your Simulations section on their home dashboard or via the Browse simulations Quick Action. Each attempt is a live AI conversation — the learner is scored in real time against the rubric and receives a debrief after completing the session.
Roles required
- Simulation Author — can create, author, and publish simulations; assign them to learners or groups; manage rubric templates; view tenant-wide simulation reports.
- Simulation Manager — can assign simulations to direct reports; review attempts; override dimension scores; view team-level reports.
