What is a Digital Twin?
A Digital Twin is an AI companion trained on the knowledge, expertise, and communication style of a specific person - a professor, sales trainer, or subject-matter expert. Once created, the Digital Twin is available to every learner simultaneously, across time zones and languages, without requiring any time from the original person.
How is a Digital Twin created?
The process involves uploading the expert's knowledge - course materials, documents, FAQs - into a Napster Learn Knowledge Base. The AI companion is configured with the expert's persona and communication style, and an avatar is generated from a single photo.
What file types can be uploaded to the Knowledge Base?
Currently supported formats for Knowledge Base uploads are PDF and PPTX. Video files (.mp4 and other video formats) cannot be uploaded directly at this time. If you have recorded lecture or training videos, the recommended approach is to upload the video transcript as a PDF or text document instead - the AI companion will use the transcript as its knowledge source. Direct video file upload is on the product roadmap.
What can a Digital Twin do?
- Answer learner questions in real-time via video or voice
- Walk through course content interactively
- Remember previous conversations with each learner
- Proactively check in on learners who are falling behind
Tip: Digital Twins extend your experts' reach - they don't replace them. The original person remains in full control of the knowledge and can update it at any time.
