Step 1: Install or update the Napster for Mac App
Make sure you are running the latest version of the Napster for Mac App. Download it from napster.ai/apps.
Step 2: Check your macOS version
Only macOS Sequoia and macOS Tahoe are supported. If you are running Sonoma or earlier, the app will not install. Update your macOS first, then retry.
Step 3: Unplug and re-plug, then start a new session
Disconnect the USB-C cable, wait 10 seconds, reconnect it, and open the Napster for Mac App. Click Unmute to start a session.
Step 4: Check your Mac's display limit
Napster View counts as an external display. On M1/M2 base models, only one external display is supported at a time. If another monitor is already connected, the Mac may not detect View.
- Disconnect any other external monitors or docks that are driving a display.
- Reconnect View directly via USB-C.
- Open System Settings → Displays and confirm "Napster View" appears in the list.
- Relaunch the Napster for Mac App.
Step 5: Restart your Mac
If View still does not appear, restart your Mac, reconnect View, and open the Napster app before opening any other applications.
Apps moving onto the Napster View display unexpectedly?
If you notice other apps (Chrome, Mail, Messages, Calendar, etc.) randomly moving onto the Napster View display or getting stuck there - especially after sleep, wake, or restart - this is caused by the Napster app not running in the background. When the Napster app is not active, macOS treats View as a standard external monitor and takes over full control of window placement.
To prevent this: keep the Napster for Mac App running whenever Napster View is connected. If apps have already drifted onto the View display and are stuck, unplug the View USB-C cable, move the windows back to your main display, then reconnect View and relaunch the Napster app.
