On Wix, add Napster Agent through the site-wide Custom Code setting. Agent only, Agent with cards and the Overlay agent all float over your pages, so Custom Code is the right choice for them. The Inline block goes inside a page with an Embed HTML element.
Before you start
- In Napster Agent, open your agent and go to Preview & Publish (it shows as Preview & Update once your agent is published). You can also click the â‹® menu on your agent and choose Copy Embed Code.
- Under Put your agent live, choose Agent only or Agent with cards (in the corner, iframe), Overlay agent (over your site, JavaScript) or Inline block (inside a page section, iframe). For the Overlay agent, pick the button position and theme first. See Install Napster Agent on Your Website: Choose Your Platform for help choosing.
- Click Copy code and paste it exactly as it is. It contains your agent's unique ID.
- Custom code is available on most Wix plans, but Wix may require a Premium plan for it on some sites. If the Custom code page is unavailable, check your plan.
- Always publish your site before testing. The editor preview does not reliably run embedded code.
Add the code to Wix
Agent only, Agent with cards or Overlay agent: every page
Agent only and Agent with cards float in the corner of the browser window. The Overlay agent places a button in the corner you chose and can lay cards over the page.
- In your Wix dashboard, click Settings, search for Custom code and open it.
- Click Add Custom Code.
- Paste your code into Paste the code snippet here.
- In Name, enter a name, for example Napster Agent.
- Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages.
- Under Place Code in, choose Body - end. The default is Head, so change it.
- Click Apply. After applying, wait about 20 seconds before refreshing your live site.
- Click Edit Site, then Publish in the editor. The agent doesn't appear on your live site until you publish.
Already have a Napster snippet? Click ⋮ → Edit Settings next to it and replace the code instead of adding a second one. Two snippets show two agents.
Use Custom Code rather than an Embed HTML element for these options. An Embed HTML element keeps the code inside its own box, so the agent can't float over the page.
Inline block: inside a page section
The Inline block is different: it sits exactly where you paste it, inside one section of one page, like a video. Use it for a dedicated agent page or a hero section.
- Open your site in the Wix editor and go to the page where you want the agent.
- Click Add Elements (+), then Embed Code, then Embed HTML.
- Click Enter Code, make sure Code is selected, paste your Inline block code and click Update.
- Drag the element's handles to size it. A 16:9 shape (for example 960 × 540) works well.
- Click Publish.
Wix shows Embed HTML elements inside their own frame. After publishing, start a conversation on the live site and check that the browser asks for the microphone. If it doesn't, use Agent only or Agent with cards through Custom Code instead.
Test it
- Open your published site in a private window.
- Start a conversation and allow microphone access when asked.
- Check that you can hear a reply.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing appears in the editor: expected. Publish and check the live site.
- The agent stays inside a box instead of floating in the corner: the Embed HTML element keeps code inside its own frame. Use Custom Code instead.
- The agent appears but microphone access doesn't work: use Custom Code and see Embedding Napster Agent on Your Website (iFrame Best Practices).
- Nothing appears on the live site: check that the snippet is switched on, that Place Code in is Body - end, and that your site is published. Rebuilding or regenerating your site from a template can remove saved Custom code, so open the Custom code page and check that your snippet is still listed.
- The agent disappeared from every page: in Napster Agent, open Preview & Publish and check that Pause the agent on your site is turned off. Pausing hides the agent everywhere without removing your code.
