Understanding and Purchasing Credits
Credits are the currency used for AI interactions on Napster. They are consumed when you chat with Companions (video, voice, or text) or generate music with AI producers. Listening to music, wellness content, and audiobooks does not use any credits.
How credits work:
- 1 credit = 1 minute of live video/voice chat
- 10 credits = 1 AI-generated song (approximately)
- Credits from your active subscription are always used first.
- If you run out of subscription credits, any purchased credit packs are used next.
- Subscription credits do not roll over at the end of a billing cycle.
- Credits from purchased packs never expire.
Checking your available credits:
- Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner — your available credit balance is shown in the dropdown.
- Or go to My Account → Billing to see your current balance.
Purchasing a credit pack:
- Click your profile avatar and select Buy credits, or go to Pricing and scroll to the Packs section.
- Choose a credit pack:
| Pack | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| 100 credits | $1.99 | 100 min of chat or 10 songs |
| 300 credits | $5.99 | 5 hours of chat or 30 songs |
| 1,000 credits | $17.99 | 17 hours of chat or 100 songs |
| 3,000 credits | $54.99 | 50 hours of chat or 300 songs |
| 10,000 credits | $159.99 | 167 hours of chat or 1,000 songs |
All credit packs include access to all Companions and music generation. Click Buy Now on your chosen pack and complete the payment. Credits are added to your balance instantly.
What happens when you run out of credits:
- Napster will notify you when you are close to your limit.
- You can buy a credit pack or wait until your next billing cycle when subscription credits refresh.
- You can continue listening to music and audiobooks at no cost even with zero credits.
