The term "Digital Twin" refers to an AI agent that uses your own likeness - your face and, optionally, your voice - rather than a pre-generated persona from the Spaces library. This article explains what is available today and what is coming.
What you can do today: custom avatar from a photo
You can upload any photo of a real person as the avatar for a Space. The system generates an animated, lip-synced avatar using that image. This works with:
- Professional headshots
- LinkedIn photos
- Any clear, front-facing photograph
- You do not need to take a new selfie - any suitable photo works
See Custom Avatar Images: What Works and What Does Not for the full list of image requirements. The key requirement is that the face must have clearly visible eyes, nose, mouth, and lips for the lip-sync animation to work.
What this is not: Uploading your photo creates a custom avatar agent. It is not a full Digital Twin - the voice is not cloned and the agent does not replicate your mannerisms or personal knowledge. It is a custom-looking agent that still uses the standard Spaces AI.
Full Digital Twin: voice cloning and professional services
A full Digital Twin - including voice cloning to match your actual voice - requires a professional services engagement. This is not available as a self-serve feature. To get a quote or discuss options, contact partners@napster.com.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my LinkedIn photo?
Yes. Any clear, front-facing photo works - you are not limited to a selfie taken in-app.
Is the Digital Twin private or public?
As the Digital Twin owner, you control access settings. It can be set to private (login required) or public.
Does the agent sound like me?
Not with a standard photo upload. The agent will use a selected voice from the available library. Voice cloning to match your actual voice requires professional services - contact partners@napster.com.
