A Digital Twin is an AI agent that uses a real person's own likeness — their face and voice — to create an avatar that looks and sounds like them. Once created, a Digital Twin is available as a companion that can be deployed to any channel, just like any other Omniagent.
What is available today
Digital Twins are fully self-serve via the Omniagent API. You can create one by providing a photo or video reference for the avatar, plus a voice recording for voice cloning.
- Photo upload (v1): Upload any clear, front-facing photo. See Custom Avatar Images: What Works and What Does Not for requirements.
- Video upload (v2): Upload a reference video (1–5 minutes of natural speech, well-lit, head and shoulders, stable camera). Produces the highest quality lip-sync and expressions.

Voice cloning: Provide a separate voice recording (
voiceUrl), or for v2 Digital Twins the voice can be cloned directly from the reference video's audio track — no separate recording needed.

Consent requirement
An admin must enable Digital Twins in the dashboard before the API will accept Digital Twin creation requests. Without this, the API returns a DigitalTwinConsentRequired error.
Photo requirements
The photo must show a realistic human face with clearly visible eyes, nose, mouth, and lips — the system requires the mouth for lip-sync animation. Religious or cultural face coverings (e.g. niqab, full veil) will not generate a standard avatar. Submit a support ticket for alternative approaches.
