It has been brought to our attention that people are being contacted through WhatsApp and SMS by someone posing as a recruiter working for Napster. This is what is known as a Phishing scam designed to capture your personal information.
We have alerted WhatsApp regarding this scammer and have asked them to take appropriate action.
Please be aware that Napster does not do proactive recruiting through WhatsApp. Our open positions are posted on our official job board and we do not contact anyone unsolicited.
If you are contacted by anyone claiming to be a representative of Napster and you have not filed a job application through official channels please do not engage with this person. Block them and report the post as spam immediately.
For more information about how to protect yourself from unsolicited WhatsApp messages please refer to their FAQ.
Update (August 20, 2024):
It has been reported that the scammer is offering jobs for "Online Song Optimization" (this is not a real thing and should be the first indication that the job isn't legit). People are asked to multiple tasks and are told they will be paid in crypto currency. At first the tasks do pay but eventually you are asked to provide your own crypto currency to complete the task and that is when the scammer takes the funds and runs. Please do not engage with anyone claiming to be from Napster that offers you work unsolicited. Block the contact and report them immediately.
