If your Napster Agent was added to your website with an older embed code and now stays on "Taking longer than usual…" after a visitor clicks Start (and the browser never asks for microphone access), the cause is usually the address inside the embed code. Your agent itself is working.
What happened
Napster Spaces was renamed to Napster Agent. Older embed codes that show the full agent experience on a page load it from an address that starts with https://spaces.napster.ai/view/. That address now forwards to agent.napster.ai. An embedded page only receives microphone, camera, and autoplay permission for the exact address written in the embed code, so after the forward the browser blocks the microphone and the agent cannot start. The same agent opened directly at agent.napster.ai works normally.
Is my embed affected?
Open the code on your website (see the platform guides below) and look for an iframe whose src address starts with https://spaces.napster.ai/view/. If you find one, use either fix below.
Embeds that load from agent-embed.napster.ai or spaces-embed.napster.ai (the corner "Agent only" and "Agent with cards" options) are not affected at this time.
Fix 1: Change one word (keeps your page layout exactly as it is)
- Open the page of your website that contains the agent code and switch to the HTML or code view of that block.
- Find the
srcaddress that starts withhttps://spaces.napster.ai/view/. - Change the word
spacestoagent, so the address starts withhttps://agent.napster.ai/view/, followed by the same long code as before. Do not change anything else. - Save or update the page and clear your site cache.
Fix 2: Copy a fresh embed code from your Napster Agent account
- Sign in at agent.napster.ai.
- Under My Agents, click the three dots on your agent's card and choose Copy Embed Code.
- In the "Add your agent to your website" window, choose how the agent should appear, then click Copy code. The Inline block option places the full agent experience inside one section of a page.
- Replace the old code on your website with the new code, save or update the page, and clear your site cache.
Note: The new Inline block code places the agent as a normal section of your page, so it can look different from an older full-screen embed. To keep your layout exactly as it is today, use Fix 1.
Where do I edit the code?
Use the guide for your website platform:
- Install Napster Agent on WordPress
- Install Napster Agent on Wix
- Install Napster Agent on Shopify
- Install Napster Agent on Squarespace
- Install Napster Agent on Webflow
- Install Napster Agent on a Custom HTML Website
Test it
Open your website in a private or incognito window and click Start. The first time, your browser asks for permission to use the microphone, so click Allow. The agent should appear within about 20 seconds. It is normal to see "Taking longer than usual…" briefly while the agent loads. If the message stays for more than a minute and the browser never asks for the microphone, the embed is probably still using the old address.
Still not working?
- Clear every cache layer (page builder, caching plugin, hosting or CDN cache) and test again in a private window.
- Check that the old code is not repeated on other pages: search your site for
spaces.napster.ai. - Check that your browser has not blocked the microphone for your site (look for the microphone icon in the address bar).
If it still does not work, submit a support ticket including:
- The address of the page where the agent is embedded
- The embed code you are using (without any passwords)
- A screenshot of what you see after clicking Start
- The browser and device you tested with
