Can I use stock companions commercially?
Yes. Stock companions from the Napster catalog (GET /public/companions/napster-stock) can be used for third-party commercial deployments — for example, deploying them on client websites as AI spokespersons or branded agents under your org's API key.
Because stock companions are synthetically generated, there are no likeness or right-of-publicity concerns.
Key restrictions to be aware of
No exclusivity
The Napster stock catalog is shared across all customers. A stock companion face cannot be reserved for a single client — the same face may appear on a competitor's site simultaneously. If your client requires a face that is exclusively theirs, you must use a custom companion or a digital twin instead.
POST /public/companions to create a custom companion, or POST /public/digital-twins for a digital twin based on a real person.Attribution
No specific attribution requirements apply to stock companions at this time.
Prohibited verticals
Standard Napster API terms of service apply. Refer to your subscription agreement for prohibited use cases.
