Cannot Download, Play Offline, or Use MP3 Players with Napster PC Client

Users who have installed Napster V6 PC Client will no longer be able to play tracks offline or transfer to MP3 Players. Some users may not be able to access Napster PC Client and it may through an error message “Please check your internet connection” and may fail to login to the Napster PC Client. You may also get similar error messages when you try to authorize, play or stream downloaded tracks as given below.

Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file
Check your internet connection
Computer could not be authorized
Playback & MP3 Player sync issues

For some users, the Napster PC client may also crash when they try to download a track.

This issue occurs because Microsoft removed the support for WMDRM tracks and offline playback due to which tracks downloaded from Napster will not be able to renew the license. Device sync would also fail due to this recent Change and we will no longer support this functionality.

Users who have Napster V6 PC Client installed will still be able to use the application and other features will still be available except download content for playback and for transfer tracks to devices. License for downloaded tracks will expire and the playback will switch to stream only.
